In these strange times it’s difficult to imagine that we will all be together again, celebrating weddings with all our friends and families gathered together, but it will happen, this virus will be beaten and we will return to normal or perhaps even something better than normal! For couples wanting to secure their wedding cake supplier for next year we are holding individual Online Bespoke Wedding Cake Consultations. It’s really important for us to spend time with you to understand what your dream cake is, so to make the experience as interactive as possible and to maintain the personal, bespoke nature, we have put a package together that we hope works for you.

The cost of the package is £25, it starts with the purchase of your cake tasting box, if you go on to book me as your wedding cake supplier, I will take £25 off the cost of your wedding cake.

What does the package include

Your package includes:

Cake Tasting Box. – You get to choose 4 of my delicious cakes and toppings to try in the comfort of your own home. Cake tasting Boxes are sent out most Tuesdays we will confirm the date we will be sending it out by email. We send your tasting box by Royal Mail guaranteed next day delivery.

Online Questionnaire – Please complete and submit the bespoke wedding cake questionnaire, either before or after you have purchased your cake tasting box. The questionnaire asks all the questions I need to know for us to hold our consultation. You can also send photos of wedding cakes you like through the questionnaire.
Telephone/Skype/FaceTime/WhatsApp consultation – we will talk through the questionnaire and develop the design of your wedding cake
Quote and Wedding Cake Sketch – following your consultation we will send out your quote and a sketch of your wedding cake. If you then book us as your wedding cake supplier, we will take off the £25 cost of your tasting box.
Ongoing support – We understand that things change so we provide ongoing support if you need to revisit the design, change the cake flavours etc.
A face to face catch up – In the Autumn or when Coronavirus restrictions are lifted, you can come along for a chat to meet me and to see the Serendipity operation. We realise it is important for you to trust your wedding cake supplier.

When should I start to think about ordering our wedding cake? – Just as soon as possible. Here at Serendipity Cake Company we like to provide attention to detail and lavish time and effort on getting your cake perfect for the big day. For that reason there is a definite limit to how many cakes we will take on in any one week. We generally have an 8 month to one year lead in time. We do sometimes have availability at short notice so do check our availability on our calendar. When you have your venue booked and you’ve decided on the style of your wedding you will want a cake that harmonises with and complements your style, venue, the season, the flowers etc.
How do I know if you have availability? – Before purchasing your cake tasting box, please check that I have availability to make your cake by checking my cake availability calendar. I can’t refund the cost of the cake tasting box once it has been sent out.
Where do you deliver to – Our Bespoke Wedding Cakes include free delivery to Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Essex, Cambridge and North London. For further afield please email me.
How does the online process start – The process starts when you order your cake tasting box. We will send you further information and a link to our consultation questionnaire if you haven’t already completed it!
How do I let you know what cake flavours I would like to try – When checking out following purchasing your tasting box let me know in notes the 4 cake flavours you would like to try from our bespoke cake menu.
Can I send photos of cakes I like – Absolutely. My cakes are bespoke – individual to you. This means that I will design your cake with you to create your perfect cake. I really don’t like to copy cakes exactly so if you send me a photo of a cake you have seen, I will always want to make that cake even more special and individual to you.
From receipt of my tasting box how long before I need to eat my cake – All of my cakes are baked fresh and contain no preservatives, therefore all samples should be consumed within 24 hours from receipt.
Will I get the cost of the tasting box back if I book a wedding cake with you. – Yes, when you pay your deposit I will take £25 off the cost of your wedding cake.
How much booking fee do I need to pay to secure my wedding date – A 25% booking fee is required for wedding cake orders, (subject to a minimum of £50) the booking fee can be made online or by bank transfer, we will send you details on how to pay when we send your quote through.
Can I have the consultation without the cake tasting – No, this is a package that has been put together to provide you with as close a service as possible to the one you would receive by coming along to Serendipity HQ to have your consultation in person. There is a cost to this service which cannot be waived.
What will happen at the wedding cake consultation – We will take you through your questionnaire and work out how much cake you need, what design theme you want, we will make suggestions based on any photos you have sent, allergies, intolerances, budget and many more things. Together we will create your dream cake.
What happens after the consultation – Following the consultation we will put together a detailed quote which will set out every detail of your wedding cake. We will also send out a sketch of your cake. You then have 7 days to either accept the quote and pay your booking fee, otherwise your date is released.
How much will my wedding cake cost – Bespoke wedding cakes start at £425 for a 3 tier iced cake and £350 for a naked or semi naked wedding cake, with delivery and set up at your wedding venue as part of the service. The cost of your wedding cake is mainly in how many hours it will take to make, so the more complex the design the more expensive your cake will be. The most inexpensive option is fresh fruits or flowers. Every detail you add increases the cost. Towards the high end are delicate sugar flowers, which are constructed by hand, one petal at a time. But here’s the bottom line: All add-ons—including flowers, cake lace, models, airbrushing, and piped royal icing details will raise the cost.
Can I hire a wedding cake stand? – We have a variety of cake stands and knives that can be hired for £25. A security deposit is also payable and fully refunded when the cake stand is picked up. Hire of a cake stand includes pick up from the venue following the wedding
