About Us 

Serendipity Cake Company officially launched in August 2015 but in reality I’ve been designing, baking and decorating cakes for 30 years. Sugar work and baking have long been a passion of mine.  From the first royal icing cake when I was 16, through my time as a pastry chef in my 20s, and even when I worked as an IT project manager! I now hold a masters certificate in cake decorating and I’m a member of the British Sugar Craft Guild. In 2015 I made the best decision of my working life and I threw myself into the amazing world of professional cake design.

I use both modern and traditional icing techniques so that your cake will always look amazing but it will also taste amazing too. My recipes have been developed, tried and tested in the Serendipity kitchen over many years and are constantly under review. I frequently develop new flavours. For instance, for Autumn 2025 I am developing a toffee and pecan cake with a luscious salted caramel buttercream.

Good quality ingredients and the the unspoken rule that quality will never be compromised are the foundations of my business. I will only take so many cake orders in a week, so you can be assured that your cake – be it a simple birthday cake or a 5 tier celebration cake –  will always be baked and decorated with love, care and skill.

My cakes are bespoke – individual to you. This means that I will design your cake with you to create your perfect cake. I really don’t like to copy cakes so if you show me a photo of a cake you have seen, I will always want to make that cake even more special and individual to you.

I believe that if you find good things without looking for them, serendipity has brought them to you. The word Serendipity comes from a 1700s Persian fairy tale and means “good luck in finding valuable things unintentionally”. With the modern world reliant on the internet and social media, it is serendipity that has brought you here. HELLO. I’m pleased to meet you.
